Devoted to Discipling
How do you disciple someone?
What is discipling? Where does it take place? When does it take place?
How does one begin discipling someone & how does one begin being discipled?
These are questions to get the ball rolling so that answers can be shared with clarity & understanding. Mark Dever got the ball rolling with this simple & brief book to discuss these questions & decipher the best way to begin fulfilling the Great Commission.
The thought-provoking manner in which Dever writes is refreshing & will invigorate even the most-passionate disciple-makers. As if they need re-invigorating anyways, but when one is purposeful in discipling others, anything that has to with making disciples will fire that person up.
Dever describes discipling as doing good in ways that produces Christlikeness in others. I’m sure there are other more complex definitions out there, but at the root of it all is replication of Christlikeness and that happens through life-on-life relationships. There is no way around this at all.
Jesus poured into others both formally & informally and disciples were made. He commands us to do the same and if you’re looking for a starting place, this primer of a book is the ticket.
