It is real…
Social Media was intended or at least publicized & driven to be the next best thing for our lives. The platform of social media would bridge the communication gap that seemed to be missing, or so they say. But now that social media is no longer the new kid on the block; what are the results of our livelihood being submerged in social media?
Perhaps the opposite has been the result…
Instead of being plugged-in, are we really rather unplugged from people?
Instead of knowing people more, we may claim to know more people or facts about them, but are we really knowing people?
Instead of having more at our fingertips, are we instead coming up with less of a grip on our lives?
Craig Croeschel strikes a nerve that is sensitive in the lives of everyone who finds themselves enamored with social media. How is it that we can follow Christ & be self-absorbed? Well, it is the truth that we cannot do both of those. Yet, we are trying…or perhaps not trying, but by default of our “plugged-in” lives the result is we are following everyone but Jesus.
The author’s premise in this book is to address all the things that social media is stripping away from our lives rather than adding to our lives. You’ll find this book to be convicting if you’re at all wanting to follow Christ but find yourself getting in the way.
