Worship is more than a song. It is what we are wired for & what we used to revolve our being around. That is, until Adam & Eve chose to allow sin to involve them & therefore, worship of God was no longer there experience. They chose themselves over Him & that came with a cost.
In True Worshippers, Dr. Kauflin aims at the heart of the worshipper because it is the rudder that will guide to worship or guide you away from it. This book tackles a few general questions regarded to worship: What is it in it’s basic form? / What will it be like in heaven? / If worship is more than a song, why do we sing? / Etc…
His premise is fulfills the implications of worshippers who worship in spirit & truth…that worship begins with turning away from ourselves and coming before God with a pure heart that desires to be led by His Word, so that worship of the exalted Jesus Christ is fulfilled. Otherwise, without our hearts turned to God & His Word, we will worship ourselves, even though our lips may be repeating worshipful lyrics.
This book could have been longer & more thorough, but it does address some general questions & encourages readers to encounter God based on His desires & not ours.
