A Different Question

There are hundreds and thousands of books on prayer and the Christian life. The majority of these books are based on some of the simplistic aspects of prayer and the Christian life. I put prayer and the Christian life together, because the two just cannot be separated. Prayer is a large portion of the Christian life and one of the keys to living in Christ.

However, not many books or authors focus on the scientific aspect. In other words, we love to look at man’s side of things and the responsibility and capability of humans and their role in prayer. But what about God? Just what does God do when we pray? How are the chess pieces on his side of the board moving?

This book tackles the scientific side of prayer and what God does with our prayers. This book will be a book that bends you farther than you think can go and presses deep into the mind of readers. We want quick-fixes, easy-answers, a step-by-step guide to whatever it is we are searching for. But with this book, that is not the case. This author wants you to think about God and consider not what we would do, but what He can do.

This book is truly an out-loud diary of the thoughts and perspectives of a thinking Christian who didn’t stop at the easy answers and quick fixes. If you’re up to the task of a book that will pin you down and beg you to think through some concepts, then this book is for you.

I received this book free from Kregel Publications as part of their Academic & Ministry Blog Review Service. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
