The bible aims at the hearts and minds of people. Therefore, preaching should do the same. However, that is sometimes, not the case. But, nonetheless, it should be.
Preaching with accuracy addresses the BIG IDEA of a bible passage. This book is a briefer reference to Haddon Robinson’s Biblical Preaching book. There are so many angles a person can take on a biblical passage, but there is ONE MAIN IDEA that should come forth and be promoted to the hearts and minds of listeners and readers.
This book gives the what, why and how of preaching with accuracy for the goal of ONE MAIN IDEA. This one main idea will create a takeaway that listeners can hold on to and chew on for the remainder of the week so that it sticks with them and they stick with it.
Although not an exhaustive preaching textbook, this book does cover the standard principles for developing an accurate sermon and addresses the needs of the listeners that can only be met by the text/passage. To go along with the pop song, all about that bass, this book holds to the truth that it’s all about that text, both the specific passage and the gospel-entirety of the bible.
