Sound & Simple
Standing in the left corner of the oak bookshelf and weighing in at 600 pages is the paperback commentary on Acts, produced by Guy Waters.
Guy is a professor at RTS in Jackson, MS and his commentary on Acts is a championship contender.
This edition of Acts is theological in nature but has quite clear applications. Guy writes with a professor’s mind, a pastor’s heart and a laymen’s desire to know and grow. He covers all of bases of the theological education platform in this commentary. So whether you are teaching, preaching or studying, this commentary will be of great help to you.
If you’re not familiar with RTS Seminary, you may want to know upfront that their theological leanings are reformed and therefore this commentary has that tone throughout. However, do not let his scare you or caution you from turning the pages of this commentary as a bible study aid. You will find great background information on the history of Luke’s perspective and solid applications that can be accepted from any theological standpoint.
My main disagreement, which really isn’t significant, is that this commentary is paperback rather than hardback.
