The majority of teenagers hate to read. There are few who do read and enjoy it. Devotional books are great tools for teenagers to use for the purpose of spiritual growth, developing a lifestyle of devotion to God, and to create a habit of reading.

Tommy Newberry, author of The 4:8 Principle & 40 Days to a joy-filled life has provided a tool for teenagers to use on a daily basis. The devotional is a paperback format with daily devotions to help teenagers foster joy in their lives and spread that joy to others.

Each day is brief but purposeful. After daily brief commentary, there are 4 parts to aid in applying the aspect of joy.

  • Work It: writing the action out
  • Talk it: seeking accountability from another trusted person
  • Stick it: a reminder to take with you & wallpaper your mind with the truth
  • Pray it: seek God regarding the desire to live this out

This devotional is like so many other devotionals in its’ format yet it is specific to joy and passion regarding God at work in your life.

Note: I received a copy of this book from the Tyndale House Bloggers Review Program in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to write a positive view.
