In Mark Driscoll’s newest book, he invites his wife to co-author alongside w/ him. This book is soon to be released & addresses the aspects of a marriage centered on the gospel.
First, this book is littered with scripture & sticks to a biblical basis for that which it addresses.
Secondly, this book is highly practical. This is a go-to resource for pre-marital counseling & for those who have been married for decades.
Third, this text addresses numerous issues within marriage. Two being, selfishness, [the greatest enemy of a healthy/gospel-centered marriage] & issues of sexuality – asking the questions that are often thought of but rarely spoken of.
While not trying to sound trite, this quote from a chapter devoted to friendship within marriage has set in with me, “Husbands and wives who want their marriages to be enduring and endearing must be friends.”
Overall, the book is in your face & pulls no punches on marriage & the weighty implications of “I do”.
