The Grace of God

When first reading the title, one might think – “another book on grace”. The funny thing is, the author, Andy Stanley mentions that this book wasn’t his idea to begin with, because have been so many books covering this subject of the gospel.

But, Stanley is gifted in taking a common, familiar subject & bringing it to life in a refreshing way. One blogger put it this way, “Stanley takes the stories and passages we’re all so familiar with (if you’ve grown up studying the Bible) and he peels away the layers of tradition and assumptions that have accumulated. Stanley is also a master at pulling out the pearl of a passage. He by-passes a lot of good stuff. Instead, he focuses on the best. A good principle to live by.”

That is exactly what is done w/ this text. Each chapter focuses on the work of grace in the life of specific biblical personalities. By diving into this text, the reader will see the grace of God at work in the lives of those personalities as well as their own. This is a rich text that is worth reading time & time again.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher through the BookSneeze.com book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
